Visit Wales Gold Award
Hush Hush Glamping, an adult only retreat in the Welsh hills, has been crowned with a GOLD AWARD by Visit Wales.
A Visit Wales Gold award will be given in recognition of exceptional quality and facilities, as according to Visit Wales who encourage guests to look for the Cymru/Wales quality mark of Wales’ official, nationwide quality assessment scheme, when choosing your holiday accommodation, then you can be confident that it has been checked out before you check in. In particular relation to glamping, accommodation is marked against sense of place, arrival information, extra touches on arrival, exterior grounds and setting, bed quality, bathroom & kitchen facilities, living space, lighting & heating, housekeeping & cleanliness.
The award was an unexpected bonus following a quality assurance inspection visit from Danny Williams, Visit Wales' Quality Development Executive. Owners Alice & Kevin met with Danny at the site of Hush Hush Glamping; a 90 acre farm in mid Wales on a wet November afternoon. Danny began grading the two glamping pods, Hare's Form and Huacaya's Cush, against the Quality Assured grading scheme (the very same used by the AA) which has a minimum pass requirement of 60%. There was no doubt upon seeing the pods in the flesh that they would blow this pass mark out of the water and it soon became apparent to Danny that these adult only glamping pods were set to achieve Gold Award standard, which has an 80% requirement. The pods at Hush Hush Glamping in fact achieved an impressive 91% score!
Owners Alice & Kevin say "We are so ecstatic to receive such a significant award, recognised nationally as the benchmark for excellence. We have poured our heart and soul into creating this little slice of paradise for adults to enjoy the welsh countryside and are so incredibly proud that Hush Hush Glamping has been recognised as an exceptional place to stay."
Quality Development Executive, on behalf of Visit Wales, commented in the final report that the "two high quality units have delightful views over the surrounding area from their verandas" and "Hush Hush Glamping provides an excellent welcome pack for guests and a number of personal touches" as well as "excellent accommodation and is worthy of achieving its 'Quality Assured' accreditation together with the Visit Wales 'Gold Award'".
But Hush Hush Glamping is no newcomer to awards, as they were dubbed the 'Best Adults-Only Glamping Site - Wales' winner of the Travel & Tourism Awards earlier this year, have been named the 'Best Glamping Site in Wales' by Glampitect and even got celebrity approval from TOWIE star Pete Wicks.
"After a trying few years, working our socks off to get the business on its feet and running into the Covid pandemic, which forced us to close just 8 months after opening, facing increasing running costs and interest rates and the recent cost of living crisis" says Alice, "it has added such a spring in our step to achieve gold standard and showcase that we are the crème de la crème of glamping!"
The Gold Award has been bestowed upon Hush Hush Glamping along with the Quality Assured stamp of approval by Visit Wales, so you can be sure of impressive amenities and attention to detail when you stay. Escape to the countryside together for that much needed downtime at Hare's Form (sleeps two adults) or grab a glass of bubbly, slip into the wood fired hot tub & soak in the view at Huacaya's Cush (sleeps up to four adults). And don't forget to meet the resident alpacas!
