Lambing Stays 2027
A 3 day immersive experience on a working farm, offering exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the lambing shed.
Limited to just 4 guests per weekend, this is a rare opportunity to work alongside your hosts and farmers, Alice & Kevin, during one of the busiest and most rewarding times of the farming calendar. You'll help support the care of 140 ewes and delivery of over 200 lambs.
Nothing is staged - this is real, hands on farm life, warts and all! From early mornings to unforgettable moments, it’s an experience that’s as raw as it is special… and one that books up fast.
What You'll Do
You will be involved with caring for pregnant ewes, doing frequent checks and assessments of ewes and lambs, assisting lambing ewes, moving ewes and their lambs to pens and out to fresh grazing in the fields, bedding down pens, providing feed and water to sheep, readying empty pens for the next ewe and lambs, bottle feeding and all sorts of other jobs that come hand in hand with lambing.
Alpacas Rest
Perfect for couples who want a more spacious home-from-home base for their immersive lambing experience. Alpacas Rest is our largest pod, offering a luxury retreat to return to after full days on the farm. With a generous living area and added comforts including underfloor heating, a large shower and a fully equipped kitchen with oven and dishwasher, it's ideal for those who want extra space and convenience between hands on days on the farm.

FAQs
How do I book?
Where will I stay?
You can choose from either of our glamping pods; Alpacas Rest or Hares Form (both pods have a capacity for 2 adults during Lambing Stays).
When can I start?
You will start at 8am on Friday morning after receiving a Health & Safety briefing and introduction to the lambing shed.
How long is the experience?
You’re welcome to check in from 4pm on Thursday and head to the lambing shed at 8am on Friday. You can spend as much time as you like getting involved right up until pod check out at 2pm on Sunday afternoon.
Do I have to spend all the time in the lambing shed?
You don’t have to spend all your time in the lambing shed; we want you to enjoy the experience in a way that suits you. While we’d love for you to get involved and make the most of this unique opportunity, there’s absolutely no pressure. Feel free to take breaks, explore the local area, or simply relax and enjoy your pod - lambing is rewarding but can be hard work! The only set requirement is that you attend the 8am briefing on Friday morning.
Is this suitable for pregnant women?
For the safety of both mother and baby, anyone who is pregnant, trying to conceive, or has a partner who is expecting should not take part in the lambing experience and is advised not to stay on the farm. Please do not book this experience if there is any chance you may be pregnant at the time of the experience stay, as deposits and balance payments are non-refundable.
Can I bring my children?
Lambing stays are an adult-only experience. Guests aged 16 and over are welcome to stay and take part. Children under 16 are not able to stay or join the experience.
Can I walk to the lambing shed?
Yes! The lambing shed is just a short walk from the pods: around 120m from Hares Form or 220m from Alpacas Rest.
Will I see lambs being born?
We hope you’ll have the chance to witness multiple live births during your stay, though this can’t be guaranteed - Mother Nature has her own schedule, and it all depends on how much time you spend in the shed and a touch of good timing.
Can I bottle feed lambs?
We only bottle feed lambs when it’s really needed - for example, if a ewe isn’t producing enough milk or has sadly passed away. If it is needed, you may have the chance to help, but it can’t be guaranteed.
Can I cuddle a lamb?
Yes, absolutely! When the shed is calm, you’re welcome to enjoy a cuddle and capture photos with the lambs.
Can I help in the night?
Night-time in the shed is relatively quiet. Lambing can be a full-on and tiring experience, so to make sure you’re bright and energised for the day ahead, we recommend heading back to your pod for some rest and relaxation overnight. You’re welcome to return to the shed from 8am the next morning to get back into the action.
What footwear do I need to wear?
To help protect your feet and our animals, all participants must wear closed-toe wellies or walking boots (no trainers, sandals or flip-flops) and dip them into the provided disinfectant solution before entering and exiting the shed.
What clothing do I need to wear?
The shed, although covered overhead is not heated and therefore subject to the ambient outdoor temperature. You’ll need to wear suitable outdoor clothing, such as waterproof coat and trousers, to keep you clean and dry, with plenty of layers underneath to keep you warm. Woolly hats, neck buffs (no scarves), and waterproof gloves are all recommended to help keep you warm. Lambing season can bring anything from bright sunshine to snow, so be ready for anything! Lambing can be a messy business, so please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty or stained during typical lambing tasks.
What food do I need to bring?
We provide light refreshments at coffee time, should you wish to join us. Please bring your own food and drinks for all meal times to enjoy at your pod during your stay.

We reserve the right to limit participation if fingernail length and/or style are inappropriate for any given activity to ensure sheep welfare is always protected.

This includes stud earrings, all other earrings, engagement rings, wedding rings, all other rings, bracelets, watches, necklaces, and all facial piercings. We reserve the right to limit participation if all jewellery has not been removed to ensure sheep welfare is always protected.
Witnessing a birth
We have scheduled the experience dates to give you the best chance of witnessing a birth, but this can’t be guaranteed - Mother Nature has her own schedule, and it all depends on how much time you spend in the shed and a touch of good timing.
Photos and videos
We may take photos and videos during your experience. By booking, you’re giving your consent for this in advance. We’ll share any images with you as a keepsake of your time with us. If you’d prefer not to be photographed, just let us know.
Risks
Your stay and experience take place on a working farm, where machinery may be in use. Please ensure that everyone in your party is aware of this and takes care to keep clear of machinery to avoid injury. For your safety, participants must follow the instructions of your experience leaders (Alice & Kevin) and adhere to all farm rules at all times.
Insurance
We hold Public Liability Insurance but we request that you hold your own personal accident and cancellation insurance. We recommend that you take out personal insurance for the unlikely event that you break down, have traffic delays, suffer from illness or are prevented in any other way from attending your experience.
