Alpaca Experience Terms & Conditions

The terms and conditions of the Alpaca Experience are as detailed below.

Glamping Guests Only

Fostings Farm is not open to the general public, so this experience is exclusively available to guests staying in one of the glamping pods at Hush Hush Glamping. Only staying guests may participate, and additional visitors are not permitted to join or spectate.

Age Requirements

This is an adult only experience. No persons under the age of 16 years, including babies, infants, and children under 16 years of age, are permitted to take part in the experience.

Payments

We accept payment by credit or debit card via Stripe. Payment in full is required at the time of booking to secure your experience. Payments are made to Hush Hush Glamping's sister business, Fostings Farm, trading as Fostings Alpacas. 

Date of Your Experience

The date of your experience is set for all participants to 8:30am on the day of your departure.

Cancellation by Participant 

All cancellation requests must be sent via email to contact@fostingsalpacas.co.uk. Your cancellation is not confirmed until you receive a written acknowledgement from us. Any applicable refunds will be outlined at that time. 

Cancellation by Fostings Alpacas

Fostings Alpacas reserves the right to refuse or cancel a booking at any time, without providing a reason. In the unlikely event that we must cancel your experience due to circumstances beyond our control, we will offer you a full refund via the original payment method. 

Conduct

All experiences are supervised by a suitably experienced person. 

Please be mindful that you may be sharing your walk with other guests, and we kindly ask that everyone remains respectful throughout. Alpacas are naturally gentle but can be cautious, particularly around new people, so a calm and quiet approach is essential. We reserve the right to end the experience for any participant who does not follow guidance, behaves in a disruptive, disrespectful, or overly loud manner, or is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. In such cases, the experience will be terminated, and no refund will be issued.

Clothing & Footwear

Please dress appropriately for the weather conditions on the day (for example, sun hats and sun cream in warm weather, or wellies/walking boots and waterproofs in wet conditions). 

Suitable, closed-toe footwear must be worn at all times. Open-toed shoes, sandals, or flip flops are not permitted, and those wearing unsuitable footwear will not be able to take part.

For the comfort and wellbeing of the alpacas, we recommend avoiding loose or flapping clothing.

As the experience takes place on a working farm, ground conditions may include mud, water, dust, and animal waste. Clothing and footwear may become dirty, so please dress accordingly. We cannot accept responsibility for any damage to or soiling of personal items during the experience.

Accessibility
The experience may take place in the barn or in the fields, where the ground may be uneven with natural slopes and inclines. Please ensure that all members of your party feel comfortable walking over this type of terrain for the duration of the experience.

If you or anyone in your group has any health considerations or mobility requirements, please let us know at the time of booking. Where possible, we are happy to adapt the experience to support our guests’ needs.

Please note that meeting the alpacas may not be suitable for everyone.

Pregnancy 

If you are pregnant or think you could be at the time of your experience, we advise not taking part in the experience due to the potential risk of toxoplasmosis and the risk of getting kicked by an alpaca. 

Late Arrival

Late arrivals will not be allowed to join the experience, as they will have missed the important safety induction. Therefore, we suggest you arrive a couple of minutes prior to your experience time.

Feeding Alpacas 

For the health and wellbeing of our alpacas, guests are asked to offer only the food provided by the experience leaders.

Hand Washing

Hand washing facilities are provided. Participants must wash their hands both before and after the experience. 

Smoking & Vaping

Smoking and vaping are not permitted during the experience. 

Photos and Videos

We may capture photos and videos during the experience for use in our marketing materials, including our website, social media, and email communications. If you would prefer not to be included, please let the experience leader know at the start of your experience.

Safety

As the experience takes place on a working farm, machinery may be in operation from time to time. Please be aware of this and ensure your party is aware that it is your responsibility to keep clear of such machinery in order to avoid injury. 

Medical Assistance

Although the experience leaders are First Aid trained, they cannot be held responsible for the level of assistance provided in an emergency. Given the rural location, obtaining medical assistance in a timely manner may be difficult. The nearest hospital with an 24/7 accessible A&E department is located in Hereford (Stonebow Rd, Hereford HR1 2ER), which is over a 50-minute drive away, not accounting for traffic. By booking the experience, you acknowledge and accept these conditions and the associated risks. 

Extreme Weather

In the event of severe weather such as (but not restricted to) heavy rain, high winds, snowfall, ice, we may need to cancel your experience for the safety of both humans and animals. In the event of a cancellation by us, a full refund will be issued via the original payment method. 

Liability

Unless it is proven to be caused by a negligent act by us, we do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your group or possessions. 

Force Majeure

Hush Hush Glamping do not accept any liability for events that may occur before or during your experience that are beyond our control such as (but not restricted to) acts of nature, fire, flooding, or if the property becomes unsafe or unfit for use as a result of irreparable damage. In such circumstances, refunds will be at the discretion of Fostings Alpacas.

Complaints Procedure

If you, or any member of your party, are in any way dissatisfied with your experience, you must let the experience leader know. We will arrange to chat with you at a time that is appropriate (i.e after the alpacas have been returned to their fields and other participants have finished their experience) to address and, where possible, rectify any issues and offer a resolution as necessary. If you leave before the end of your experience, or raise a complaint after you have left, Fostings Alpacas will not issue any refund, compensation, or reimbursement, as we must be given the opportunity to address any concerns while you are on site. If you are, or any member of your party are dissatisfied with your experience, please detail your concerns in an email to contact@fostingsalpacas.co.uk so that management can review and respond accordingly. 

Fostings Alpacas and Hush Hush Glamping reserve the right to change or amend these terms and conditions at any time.
